Ironbridge Rowing Club is a unique sports club situated at the UNESCO World Heritage Centre of Ironbridge Gorge, dwarfed by the iconic cooling towers of Ironbridge Power Station and sitting on the River Severn.

The Club was founded in 1870 to promote the sport of rowing in the Ironbridge Gorge and the surrounding area. It was one of the first rowing clubs to be founded away from the Thames as the sport of rowing developed in the early 19th Century. The Ironbridge Gorge provides ideal conditions for participation in one of the most scenic settings for the sport in the UK.

It is possible to use 4.5 miles of the River Severn and except in conditions of extreme flood the river can be used all year round. It is also an extremely attractive site, Ironbridge Gorge is a major tourist area, attracting thousands of visitors each year and one of the leading World Heritage sites in Britain.

We're a small-but-perfectly-formed club always happy to welcome rowers, visitors, and drinkers to our oasis by the Severn.

If you want more information or you are interested in joining us, you can complete the form or contact us directly.
